Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. This guide has two parts. The first uses the Muse web app at muse.ai to create a Custom Connector for freddy and sign in with OAuth. The second adds freddy to Muse Code, Meta's terminal coding agent. It does not cover the separate Meta AI app.
Muse on the web
Before you start
You need a Muse account and a freddy account. To ask about your health data right away, connect a source in freddy first. See Choose and connect a data source.
1. Ask Muse to connect freddy
Open the Muse web app. In your first message, ask: “Create a connector for freddy using the remote MCP server at https://freddy.coach/mcp. Use OAuth to connect my freddy account.”
The URL is the same for every freddy account. It contains no personal token. Use exactly https://freddy.coach/mcp, without adding anything to the path or pasting your MCP key into the chat.
2. Approve the connection
Follow the steps Muse presents. When freddy's authorization page opens, sign in with your freddy email code if needed. Review any required Terms, Privacy and Consumer Health Data consent, then approve Muse's access. Enter your sign-in code on freddy's page, not in the Muse chat.
freddy uses OAuth for this connection. You do not need to give Muse a freddy API key or access token.
3. Ask about your data
After Muse confirms the connection, try: “What data is available in my freddy account?” Muse can then use freddy's tools to find your connected metrics and answer questions about them. If you have not connected a source, add one in freddy before expecting data to appear.
Manage access
You can disconnect the Custom Connector in Muse under Settings → Connectors. You can also revoke Muse's OAuth grant in freddy under Connected AI. Meta says information Muse already used may remain in its conversations or memory after a connector is disconnected; review Muse's controls if you want to remove that history.
Meta does not review Custom Connectors. Review the access request before you approve it. See Meta's guide to how Muse works with Connectors for the current setup and privacy details.
If setup does not work
Check that Muse has the exact server URL https://freddy.coach/mcp and that it is using OAuth. Do not paste an API key, MCP key or email code into the chat. If the authorization flow still fails, contact freddy support with the error text, without sending a code or token.
Muse Code in your terminal
Muse Code is Meta's coding agent for the terminal. It is a separate product from the Muse app, so connecting freddy in one does not connect it in the other.
Before you start
You need Muse Code installed and signed in, and a freddy account with a connected source. If you have not installed it, Meta's one-line installer for macOS and Linux is curl -fsSL https://dev.meta.ai/install.sh | sh. On Windows, use irm https://dev.meta.ai/install.ps1 | iex in PowerShell. Then run muse and sign in. See Meta's Muse Code guide.
1. Add freddy to your settings
Muse Code keeps your settings in ~/.config/muse/settings.json. Open that file and add freddy under mcp_servers:
{
"schema_version": 1,
"mcp_servers": {
"freddy": {
"transport": "streamable_http",
"url": "https://freddy.coach/mcp"
}
}
}If the file does not exist yet, create it with the text above. Muse Code needs "schema_version": 1 in the file. If the file already has an mcp_servers block, add the freddy entry inside it and leave the rest as it is.
2. Sign in
Run:
muse mcp login freddyMuse Code takes you through freddy's sign-in, in your browser or headless. Sign in with your freddy email code if needed, review any required consent, and approve. Muse Code keeps and refreshes the sign-in for you. If you sign in from another terminal, Muse Code picks it up without a restart.
3. Check and ask
Start muse and run /mcp to see freddy and its tools in the live list. Then ask: “What data is available in my freddy account?”
Manage access
Run muse mcp logout freddy to sign out, and remove the freddy entry from your settings file to stop using it. You can also revoke the grant in freddy under Connected AI.
If setup does not work
If a tool call says you are not signed in, run muse mcp login freddy again. Check that the URL is exactly https://freddy.coach/mcp. Do not paste an API key or MCP key into your settings file when OAuth works.
