Perplexity can read your freddy data through a custom remote connector. You add it once, approve the sign-in, and Perplexity can answer questions about your sleep, workouts and heart rate in your threads.
Before you start
You need a freddy account, at least one connected source, and a Perplexity plan that allows custom connectors. That is Pro, Max or Enterprise. On Enterprise, an admin can control whether members can add their own connectors.
1. Open Plugins
In Perplexity, open Plugins in the sidebar. If you do not see Plugins yet, open Customize, then Connectors. Choose Add custom, then Connector, then Add MCP connector, then pick Remote.
2. Fill in the form
- Name: freddy
- MCP server URL: https://freddy.coach/mcp
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
The URL is the same for every freddy account and contains no personal token. Tick the box that confirms you understand the risks of custom connectors, then select Add. The connector appears on your Plugins page.
3. Approve the connection
Select the freddy card to start the sign-in. freddy's authorization page opens. Sign in with your freddy email code if needed, review any required Terms, Privacy and Consumer Health Data consent, and approve. Enter your sign-in code on freddy's page, not in a Perplexity thread.
freddy uses OAuth for this connection. You do not need to give Perplexity a freddy API key or access token.
4. Ask about your data
Start a thread and ask: “What data is available in my freddy account?” Then try “How did I sleep last night?”
Manage access
Remove the connector from its card under Plugins in Perplexity (the ⋮ menu). You can also revoke Perplexity's OAuth grant in freddy under Connected AI.
If setup does not work
Check that the URL is exactly https://freddy.coach/mcp, the authentication is OAuth 2.0 and the transport is Streamable HTTP. Do not paste an API key, MCP key or email code into a thread. If the sign-in still fails, contact freddy support with the error text, without sending a code or token.
